Hall of Fame Member Biographies

Dean VanTrease

Dean P. VanTrease held leadership positions at Tulsa Community College for thirty-four years, serving as executive vice president from 1970-89 and president from 1989-2004. He was responsible for the oversight and operation of four campuses and a conference center reaching more than 30,000 people each year. Before coming to Tulsa, VanTrease was dean of instruction at Dallas County Community College and worked at Big Bend Community College. Among his honors, he received the Whitney M. Young Award from the Tulsa Urban League and was inducted into the Oklahoma Education Hall of Fame in 1999. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2005.
