James H. Boggs

James H. Boggs completed more than forty-eight years of service to Oklahoma State University as a faculty member and administrator before his retirement in 1991 as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research. Boggs was instrumental in founding a nationally recognized center for effective instruction and campus-wide centers for research on energy, lasers, water, and the environment. He served Oklahoma and the nation on many professional committees and academic boards. He was the founding editor of ME News, wrote a number of journal articles, and coauthored a textbook entitled Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer. Boggs was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1997.
