Laku Chidambaram
Laku Chidambaram serves as the dean of the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma and holds the Fred E. Brown Chair in Business. Previously, he served in various leadership roles at the college, including interim dean, senior associate dean, associate dean and division director.
During his leadership, the number of graduate degree programs more than doubled from five to 12—including collaborative programs with 11 colleges across two OU campuses—while the undergraduate program added 12 new offerings. Student enrollment has grown exponentially as well, most recently at 10 percent year-over-year.
As dean, Chidambaram led efforts to build a strong culture of support and community, better align the school’s programs with university priorities, raise over $26 million in philanthropic gifts, and initiate high-impact student success initiatives including the Price Career Center, Office of Experiential Learning and First Year@Price.
Chidambaram’s research on computer-supported collaborative work has been published in the top MIS journals, and he founded the eService Journal published by the Indiana University Press in 2001. He has served on various editorial boards, co-chaired programs at America's Conference on Information Systems, and has served on 28 dissertation committees, chairing seven. In 2019, the Association for Information Systems inducted him as a Distinguished Member Cum Laude to its inaugural class.
He has taught undergraduate, master's, executive, and doctoral courses and received nine teaching awards from the three universities that he has served. He earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University, an MBA from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor’s in commerce from Loyola College.
