Edwin E. Vineyard

Edwin E. Vineyard was appointed as the eleventh president of Northern Oklahoma College in 1965, where he served for the next twenty-five years. Vineyard received his doctorate from Oklahoma State University in 1955, and was a faculty member and administrator at OPSU and SWOSU before returning to OSU in 1961 as professor of education and director of Graduate Studies in the College of Education. An activist and a visionary, Vineyard revitalized Northern Oklahoma College, leaving it a radically changed place. He authored two textbooks and numerous scholarly articles. Vineyard was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1994 and retired in 2000 as dean of the Oklahoma public colleges.
