Ernest L. Holloway

Ernest L. Holloway was employed by Langston University in 1963, and served in six administrative positions before being elected president in 1979. At Langston, Holloway helped restore financial stability to a program that had lost credibility and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Under his guidance, the entire campus was transformed; new classrooms, dormitories, and athletic facilities were overhauled; a new campus was added in Oklahoma City; and sixteen new academic programs were added, including professional programs in nursing and physical therapy. Holloway was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1999 and retired in July, 2005.
