Hall of Fame Member Biographies

Nathaniel S. Eek

Nathaniel S. Eek served on the faculties of five universities before becoming professor and director of the School of Drama at the University of Oklahoma in 1962. His teaching specialties included theatre management and administration, children’s theatre, and production design. He gained theatre experience directing and staging plays, musicals, outdoor dramas, ballets and operas. His colleagues named him to the College of Fellows of the American Theatre and the Southwestern Theatre Association. After sixteen years of service as professor and Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Eek was named Regents Professor of Drama in 1991. He retired in 1993, and was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1997.
