Richard H. Mosier

Richard H. Mosier was appointed president at Claremore Junior College—now Rogers State University—in 1972. Earlier, he served as founding president of Colby Community College in his native state of Kansas. Mosier led Rogers State for twenty-four years, transforming it from a military school into a diverse community college. Enrollment grew fourfold during his presidency, two outreach centers were established, a state-of-the-art television studio was equipped and activated, and the curriculum was expanded. Mosier was named President Emeritus in 1997 and was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1998. He currently serves on the Oklahoma Higher Education Heritage Society Board.
